pls take into consideration the following most common deficiencies which cause detention to avoid accordingly in co-operation with the company :
1.Fire Safety
- Inoperable fire detection and alarm system
- Wasted/Inoperable fire-dampers
- Malfunction of fire pump
- Poor closing condition of fire door
- Insufficient pressure from emergency fire pump
2.Water/Weathertight Conditions
- Damaged/seized ventilators
- Hatch covers wasted cleats and its spacers
- Hatch cover rubber gasket missing/wasted
3.Life Saving Appliances
- Lifeboat engine not started easily
- Rescue boat engine not started easily
- Inoperative davit for launching arrangements for survival craft
- Emergency generator do not start automatically or manually Structural Conditions Correctly mounted Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) on an inflatable liferaft
4.safety navigation
- Charts not updated
- Navigation charts for intended voyage not available
- Nautical publication not updated
- Nautical Publication for intended voyage not available
- Voyage data recorder (VDR / S-VDR) malfunction ‘’system error’’
- Navigation lights damaged/inoperable
- Echo Sounder malfunction
- Main gyro compass not aligned with repeaters
- Passage or Voyage plan not as per guidelines Res A.893
5.MARPOL Annex IV
- Inoperative sewage treatment plant
6.MARPOL Annex I
- Oil filtering equipment, 15 ppm alarm arrangements and discharge connection should be in good condition, properly calibrated, maintained and fully functional, with appropriate spares.
- Oil record book not updated
- Excessive quantity in Oily bilge and Sludge tanks
7.Structural Conditions
- Emergency shut off valves of oil tanks inoperative
- Ballast tanks heavily corroded/wasted
- Cracks in hull, keel plate connections and pin
- Bulkheads heavily corroded/waste/holed
8.Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery
- Cleanliness of Engine Room insufficient
- Gauges, thermometers inoperable/damaged
9.ISM
- Records of inspection, maintenance, testing and drills and crew familiarization with fire and abandon ship drills
- Lifeboat weekly test NOT conducted and recorded
- Rescue boat weekly test NOT conducted and recorded
