RESTRICTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS AT EGYPTIAN ARRIVAL PORTS/AIRPORTS IN RELATION TO COVID-19 VACCINATION UPDATES
Pls note that as per latest notice no. 1/2022 rcvd from Egyptian Ministry of Health applied from 22nd January 2022,
Regarding updates on Health restrictions and requirements at Egyptian Arrival ports/Airports in relation
to COVID-19 vaccination updates:
** For any passengers arriving Egypt (Egyptian or Foreigners by means of air, sea or road)
Must fulfil one of the below requirements :
* Passengers is to be Vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccination which are approved by WHO and Egyptian medicines Authority
And they can travel to Egypt after 14 days of receiving the 2 doses ( For vaccines of 2 doses) or after 14 days
After receiving Vaccine dose (For vaccines with only one dose) prior arriving to Egypt
OR
* Passengers to arrive with COVID-19 PCR result with any of the approved tests by the Egyptian Medical Authority
(Negative PCR test – ANTIGEN RAPID TEST – ID NOW test) valid within 72 hrs before arrival to Egypt (excluding children below 12 years)
* The requirement for ID NOW COVID-19 needed from passengers arriving from (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana,
Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique) is no longer needed.
* In case the PCR or vaccination certificate is not complying with the above mentioned conditions passenger will
undergo Antigen Rapid Test and in case the result is positive the following will apply:
. If the passenger is Egyptian and he/she does not have any symptoms or has slight symptoms he/she will be home
quarantined for 10 days and in case he/she has moderate or severe symptoms he/she will be directed to the hospital.
. For non-Egyptian passengers another ID NOW test will be done in case the result is positive the airline will
be responsible to return positive cases immediately.
* As for passengers arriving directly to (Sharm el Sheikh / Taba / Hurghada / Marsa Alam/Luxor/Aswan) In case the
PCR or vaccination certificate is not complying with the above mentioned conditions passenger will undergo
Antigen Rapid Test and in case the result is positive the following will apply:
. Passenger will be self-isolated in his/her hotel for 5 days and will undergo PCR test on the 6th day in case
he has no symptoms, if the result is negative the self-isolation will be terminated, while if the result
is positive the self-isolation will continue for another 5 days afterwards the isolation will be terminated
without the need for another test.
